heads or head gasket?

I've been told, after realizing my heads were cracked, that I would not be able to find a good set.

So here is the question, are the heads that bad or was ot a faulty head gasket to begin with???

I would think that you could find a good set of heads some where. BUT with the cracked head did coolant get into the oil and cause damage? And you said heads did both heads crack at once. Was the engine over heated?

I saw the leak, took the heads off to replace the head gaskets. When the machinist looked at them, he let me know they were cracked. The machinist told me he doesn't ever have replacement heads because they were all weak. There, now is reason for my question.
