New Denali: Full Size Spare?

Recommended Posts

Hey gang -

I haven't picked my new truck up yet, but thanks to the GM customer service folks here on the forum: I have its build sheet. I can clearly see that it comes with an 18" spare, whereas the wheels are all 20". Is there enough room under the bed for a full sized 20" spare? Or now that the trucks have moved to 20s (yo!), they've outgrown their spare carrier?

I have no problem buying another 20" OEM wheel and a single tire. But I don't want to waste my money if it's unlikely to fit under the bed. Thoughts?

Thanks!

The 18" tire size they use (265/70/18) is the same diameter tire as the 265/60/20 thats on the truck, so it is a full size spare. Not sure how the aluminum wheel will work with the tire hoist. Not sure if the ears on the hoist will fit in the center of the wheel right.

OK, good. I was imagining an 18" "donut" for lack of a better word. But it doesn't sound like that's the case.

Thanks for the clarification.

Fixed. And agreed.

I'm an idiot. I get too comfortable in the new posts and don't pay attention to the sub folder I'm in. I kept scratching my head at the load range E comment. That should've been a clue I guess. :jester:

Yep, but like last gen the half tons with 20's are 275/55 and the HD's are 265's
