cat320
With all the electronics in the truck these day does any one bother with the extended warranty ? or is it a big wast of time i was quoted $2200 plus like another $250 or so because of the plow on the truck we got it on the yukon because we thought it was or might need it because of all the electronics but time has run out and it seams like we didn't get enough back in repair to justify it. bfron
I didn't consider it at all. I did get tire and wheel protection since I live in the pothole capital of the world, PA. Those twenty's are really expensive.
The Zip
cat320 - I've wasted so much money on extended warranties that I stopped getting them, but on this truck I got a 5yr 100K bumper to bumper warranty with OEM GM parts for just the reason you identify "with all the electronics" (also piece of mind for the wife, her truck). My finance officer advised me she worked for GM, not the dealership so she worked me a deal of a nice round number (her words). The extended warranty I got was just under 1600.00 (about 25.00 per mth, manageable) . If you decide to get one, talk to the finance officer to get a better deal
cat320
Going to have to think on it what kills me is I had one of those private offers for $1,500 more off and it expirerd 2 days before the truck came in . So now that it,s physically here have to start rapping things up .

Cosmic Charlie
No Dis-respect Intended 3yr - 36,000 Bumper to Bumper & 5 yr 100,000 Drive Trane IS STANDARD Why buy with that in place ? & you can ALWAYS buy the 5yr -100,000 Bumper to Bumper when 3/36 approaches it's end. Also - if they are selling (SALES) pushing it - it's to THEIR ADVANTAGE !!! Buying Extended on a brand new car/truck really make No Sense - your paying for the future that may take 3 years to arrive at no savings, then vs today ... though you may sleep better ... then just do it ... but maybe buying a new bed will be a better choice. Kinda like going to the Casino and telling the dealer you want to LOSE (that is -buying a crappy new car) !! and want to buy insurance to cover your loss !!!!! Bettting against yourself - so much for positive thinking and and doing your research picking a Good Car ... Give them $2000 +- today for use in Maybe 3 years ? - save your money You can alway tell the Sales Staff selling the extended - if you think the car/truck will need it - then I think I'll buy from a DIFFERENT More Reliable car company, and cancel this sale ... No F-bdy Bs
We made out like bandits by buying it on my wife's Enclave. Total cost was $1525. The trans took a dump at 65k. That alone was a $5,000 job. Add in a water pump, alternator, seat motor, Gps screen, and that ended up being one of the best decisions I have ever made.
