How To Upload Photos to the Forum

Recommended Posts

Not sure if this topic exists. Did a quick search. This topic comes up a lot, and let’s face it, we’re a visual bunch. Not sure what forum to place this in so I’ll start here and it can be moved if needed.

How to upload photos using the forum:

When starting a new topic or replying to a thread (you have to click on “more reply options” if replying) click on the “choose files” under attach files:

Select your file to be uploaded and then select “add to post”

**There is a 1MB upload limit**

You can also add files by directly copying the URL of the picture by clicking on the picture icon in the header of the reply box:

upload2.jpg

Paste the URL in the resultant box and click OK.

How to upload photos using Free online hosting sites (i.e. Photobucket):

If you don’t already have an account, it’s quick and free.

Create an account at Photobucket.com

Upload any photos you wish.

You can set your libraries to private as well

Once photos are uploaded, click on the photo you wish to upload.

Look for the chain link icon in the upper right hand corner:

upload3.jpg

Click on this icon and you will get a pop up with photo links.

Look for the IMG Code box:

upload4.jpg

Click on this code (once) and it will copy the code.

Paste the code into a response via ctrl+v or right click and paste.

You will see a [url………./URL] code pasted

You can click preview post to see it before replying.

I think I overloaded my privileges of posting to this thread. It won't let me copy the last bit over. It's mostly there though.

And if it tells you your pic is too big you can crop it and it will work you just have to find the magic size.

This also works as well. Will also keep you from losing too much quality from resizing.

All photos I attempt to upload are posted upside down.  In an attempt to "fool" the system I saved them on my desktop upside down, and they are still posted upside down.  Can someone tell me why I'm having this challenge on this forum?  Thanks.
