wheel bearing replacement

Ok my moms blazers wheel bearing is bad (28K miles and out of warranty).  I was wondering if the removal and install info would be basically the same for the 4wd blazers as they are for the 1500 trucks?  I have the manual on my truck and am thinking it should be similar.

My dad just talked to gm customer assistance and they are going to split the cost.  

 

I am graduating with a degree in Mechanical engineering this may and there is no way the bearings should only last 28K miles.  They must be using some real horrible bearings.  This is (to quote my teacher) NONSENSE!  My dad has only repacked his twice in 120K miles and they are fine.

you really cant compare sealed bearings(like the ones one a 4wd blazer) to ones you can repack. it is abnormal for them to be bad in that short a time though.
