Just a heads up to those searching for the cheapest price on these lights.... I have no affiliation with this eBay seller, but thought I'd share my findings. I just purchased some using the "Make Offer" feature and paid $230 shipped.

I originally made an offer of $220, he countered with $240, and I countered with $230 to which they accepted. You may be able to get a little more of a discount depending. Within 15 minutes of paying, seller provided me with tracking number. So far so good...

I installed my lights over the weekend. I can post photos later (they look identical to the other photos here.) Very happy with the results.

Installing the passenger side is difficult to do. There is a piece of unnecessary plastic that has to be cut out of the way, which was no big deal. The instructions show to install the light to the bracket, then mount the bracket to the bumper. With the light on the bracket, you cannot access the upper right mounting screw (working from the back of the bumper.) The remaining plastic bracket + the light just won't allow access. My suggestion is to mount the bracket to the bumper, then install the light on the bracket. That's what I had to do. Still wasn't super easy, but doable.

Got mine and installed last night. They are bright as hell and well worth the money. My question is how did everyone aim them the right way? I emailed Rigid to see if they suggested a way.....

Rigid is pretty tight on their pricing. But on Amazon they are a $213 for the lights

and the brackets are $50.

Dang....maybe I need to jump on these now. Amazon pricing fluctuates....

I hate all you guys! There goes another $350!

Just an FYI - A few of us ordered from Amazon and had to cancel the order because they couldn't deliver. Somebody else purchased them from Got Exhaust.com for $239 and they delivered in a couple days http://www.gotexhaust.com/i-20161318-rigid-industries-50481-d-series-fog-light.html. I don't know why everything is greyed out in my menu. I couldn't post the link but you can copy and paste it.

Cliff, when I did my install I just put the cutoff inline with the existing fogs since I installed them one at a time and tested them along the way.

Best way to do it post install would be park on a level surface in front of a wall or garage and measure the height of the fogs on your truck and then make sure the height of the fog light cutoff is at or below that.

Cliff,

What I did is aligned them to the pattern I wanted against a wall and had my wife hold them in place buy putting wood shims inbetween the light and bracket, I than tightened them up from underneath.

What i am debating trying it aiming them outwards by inserting an extra set of washers on the back side of the mounting plate to force the entire light/housing to face slightly out towards the sides rather than strait ahead.

A few install tips:

1. Just as an FYI, before you start breaking out tools, make sure you inventory all the bolts / nuts that come with the GM Mounting kit. I got halfway in and relied that Rigid had included the wrong Screws with a mix of thread types. Additionally I was missing the #8 Nuts, but had a bag of #6's. I went to HomeDepot and got the right parts but for a $60.00 set of brackets I am pretty disappointed that I was sent either the wrong parts or missing parts.

The kit is supposed to include:

  1. 8 Socket Button Head Screws #8-32 X 1/2 Stainless Steel
  2. 8 Nyloc Nut #8-32 Stainless Steel
  3. 8 Washers #8 Stainless Steel
  4. 4 Socket Button Hed Screw M6X1 x 30mm Stainless Steel
  5. 4 Plastic Unthreaded Spacers
  6. 4 Nyloc Nut M6 Flange

2. The passenger side top Screws can be a pain in the ass to tighten from the back, instead, tilt the light as far back as you can, this will allow you to access the top Nuts from the front of your rig vs, underneath. A flex head ratchet or wrench will make this very easy to do.

3. Once installed, you might want to do some subtle adjustments / aming of the beams. To do this right, you will want two people, one to aim, and the other to tighten the light to the bracket.

  • Once installed, the light may sit crocked in the bracket, IE not parallel to the ground which is apparent in the dark, to properly adjust each light, I used two wood shims, (two puddy knives would work) so that the light sits level in the housing.
  • Once centered and aligned, you can have one person aim the light, up/down/left/right, while the second person tightens the bolts to the bracket.

Ugh, I fell victim.... sent me the correct nuts/washers but wrong screws. I am debating taking a trip to HD so I can finish the install.

I started my installation late today. I got the old lights out and cut the plastic to allow the Rigids to fit. I also made up some jumpers from cutting the Deutsch connectors off the harness they supply and splicing it with a set of 5202 connector jumpers I got. This will make the electrical a plug-n-play task. I already have the "fog lights with high beams" mod (I posted it :flag: ) Tomorrow, I'll see if I can find time to finish the installation.

I would like to install these today but the weather isn't cooperating. The underside of my truck is full of ice and snow and I don't like feel like crawling around in a puddle of water. I got the jumpers made though. They are soldered together and then have individual double wall heat shrink tubing on each wire and then a larger double wall heat shrink tubing over both wires. Only the first jumper received the 3 tube treatment. I went to heat shrink the large tubing on the second jumper and found it still sitting next to the heat gun.

$5 and a trip to Home Depot later, I'm up and running... Can't wait for it to get dark!

Got mine installed too.

I just couldn't get a nut on the upper outboard passenger side screw. I'll fix it when I have the time. They're up and working

I found the best thing to do is to take the light out of the bracket. Tighten the upper-right screw, then install the light on the bracket. It's still a pain, but easier than trying to reach that upper right screw with the light in place.
