Voice Command Issues w/ iPod & Other Media

With regard to the Chevy MyLink...

Currently I am unable to get MyLink to follow voice commands with "My Media". This includes both my iPod and my Droid Maxx phone. I've tried connecting with both USB cord and via BlueTooth. Voice Commands seem to work fine with Phone and Radio commands, but I can't get MyLink to play any song, artist, album, etc. with My Media commands. It is as if MyLink cannot make the connection from what i'm saying to what is available to play even though my "music list has loaded". Both my iPod and my phone will play music just fine, I am just not able to utilize any of the voice commands. Anyone else had any similar problems? Any advice?

UPDATE:

I talked to customer service about this issue and this was what I was told:

"I do not see any updates for the system in regards to the voice recognition issue you are experiencing. It could be a number of items causing the concern. The USB port in the vehicle does not support Android devices so that is why it is not working when you attempt it this way with your phone. As for the iPod, plugging it in via USB is the way to have full access to all of the media content as well as the voice commands. If the iPod is newer than the 5th generation it is not a supported device which could be causing the issue. In regards to Bluetooth, the iPod may/may not work this way because Bluetooth audio streaming is not fully supported between Apple devices and the radio system due to certain security features on the devices. I checked the list of phones that have been tested with the vehicle but do not see the Droid Maxx listed so I cannot guarantee that this feature is fully supported between the phone and the vehicle. If you haven't already you can try to return the system to factory settings to see if this will help any. You can also try other devices with the vehicle to determine whether the concern is with the radio or the devices/applications being used."

I went on to tell her that I was in fact using a 5th gen iPod Touch connected with USB cable. Her reply is as follows:

"If it is a 5th generation iPod it is a supported device [and] if you are using iTunes the feature should be available...If the device has between 4,000 and 8,000 songs the commands will not work because it is too much media for the system to sort through properly. You can try saying 'Play Album/Artist/Song' first then the system will ask you to say the name of the album, artist, etc that you want to listen to...so the next step is to try a device or devices other than the two that you currently have using the same applications, if possible. If you find that it occurs with any device being used a dealership visit is advised to determine what the cause of the voice recognition issue is...If it has less than 4,000 [songs] you should be able to say 'Play <Song/Artist name>' and the system should recognize it."

I think what I am going to do is put a few albums on a thumb drive and plug that in to see if it works. If it does work, then I will just have to pare down my iPod music to <4,000 songs. If the tumb drive DOESN'T work, then I guess I'm taking my truck to the dealership.

I had a problem with voice commands and my contacts. I had too many contacts. Mylink has a limit on the number of contacts or info it can store. So maybe you have too much data on your ipod or other media. Try it with a smaller SD card and see what happens.
