New member "Howdy" and my Under seat storage for a Regular Cab

Recommended Posts

Hi all! This is my 1st post here, as I had previously been on the Ford forums. I had a 2012 F-150 STX RCSB, which I decided I wanted to put a plow on. .. Can't be done on a 2011 – 2012 F-150, unless it has the 6.2 engine. WTF! ... Because of the EPAS steering.
I traded the Ford for a 2014 RCSB Silverado with a plow mounted. The 1st thing, which I noticed, was the Chevy didn’t have as much storage behind the seat, as the Ford. I have a bunch of tie downs, bungee cords, etc.. So, I found some “Over the Cabinet Door” wire bins in Lowe’s ‘Home Organization Dept.’, which seem to work out pretty good. I got 2 of them, but there is probably enough room for 4 units. With the hanging hooks, they can be easily hung over the cab backing, where the vinyl joins it.

Welcome to the group Tom, nice truck!! I had a couple RCSB's and wish I would of thought of the basket deal. I was always short of storage. That's the main reason I traded for an extended cab.

Thanks for the welcome, all y'all. I had 3 or 4 Crew Cabs ... when I needed them, but they are a lot of "passenger truck", if you don't need it. The RCSBs are like sports cars, rather than school buses. ... they're fun! ... and easier to park at the grocery store.

I miss my '93 rcsb step side, tons of memories. Parking spots in Florida are quite small, always have to back in. Space in the crew is nice, but as far as plowing goes, rcsb's are the ticket. I had a 8' western on mine back in the day, and miss it

I've always had longer trucks and I also have a class A CDL so I'm also used to 18 wheelers and class B straight trucks. You should see some of the places I had to put a tandem axle Sterling with a 24.5' flatbed with a Moffett forklift hanging on the back. Hell I even parallel parked an 18 wheeler at a rest area when I tried out trucking. So a pickup truck is easy for me. I went from a regular cab long bed to an ext cab standard bed then to my current '14 that's double cab standard bed. I don't really need anything with a back seat, but I like the extra room for storage and to put stuff in when going somewhere. I'd rather use the bed for what it's really intended for and put anything that I could in the cab like groceries and whatever else. Plus I might meet a girl that has a pre-made family lol.

Nice truck though lol.

I drove a full-length school bus (48 feet long) years ago and I used to parallel park it downtown all the time.
