Anyone with a GMC Sierra Z-71 (2014-2015)?

Here is a picture of the badge on a black truck:

As you can see the Z is a deep gray, but the rest is left as an outline with the paint color underneath providing the pop.

I took a Q-tip and soaked it with lacquer thinner, Behind the gray on the Z is a deep gloss black.

The Chevy gets Z71 door sill plates, Z71 designated grille w/grille badge, Z71 tach, and Z71 bedside decal.

The GMC "Off Road Suspension Package" gets the Z71 fender badge, with dark charcoal colored Z. The earlier 2014's have a Z with horizontal ribs, now it is smooth. Wheel upgrade to 18" bright machined aluminum, High Capacity Air Cleaner, Hill Descent Control, Underbody Sheild, Z71 Badge, Monotube Rancho Shocks.

The all terrain gets the AT door sill plates, AT designated grille, AT tach, AT door badge. The AT SLE gets the upgraded headlights with LED accents, full function power mirrors, chrome mirror caps/door handles/body side moldings like the SLT/Denali. The mirror fold back feature only works from the inside door panel, and not the remote on the SLE AT. The AT also has the option of body colored bumpers or chrome bumpers.

Huh...

Seems like GM figured GMC owners would prefer to fly their Z71s under the radar.

What about mechanical differences?

Other than the locking rear end, springs, shocks, skid plates, and badging, were there any other differences?

I'm curious because I'm comparing my SLT 4x4.

I have the Max Towing package so I already have the heavy duty locking rear end and I know I have stiffer springs in the back anyway.

I have the high capacity air cleaner as well.

I think at one point there used to be some off-road jounce bumpers on the Z71s as well.

Couple other guys here mentioned it, the hill descent feature. That was the main reason I got the Z71 package. I have a steep driveway to go down in winter. Wife's new Cherokee has it also.

The 'Z' (and 'x') on my fender badge is silver-gray. Perhaps inlay colour depends on truck paint colour.

Mine on the truck have the horizontal ribs that run through the Z. They are nicer than the current ones. I ordered one around a year ago, and it has the smooth Z. They are all chrome with dark charcoal gray "Z" and "x" though, even the one I ordered. All genuine GM Parts.

Dang... I was considering getting the parts to make mine a Z71 (bought it used, had to take what was available) but that one would be a problem...

You could do everything else. The only way anyone would notice is the missing button on the center stack.
