Brakes squealing while driving

Recommended Posts

Has anyone noticed that their front brake pads are constantly rubbing on the rotor? I know my driver side is for sure. As I'm driving with the window down at low speed a I can hear it squealing. It stops when I press the brake. I took my wheel off and inspected the pads and the outside pad is constantly rubbing on the rotor.is this something that's adjustable?

I still have lots of pad left, as far as I can tell it looks like its about half an inch. Also I think our stock pads are good for a lot of miles.

The pads should always touch the rotor. They shouldn't be clamping down or dragging on the rotor. But, they do not "pull away" from the rotor when u release the brakes.

so I took all my pads off today and it turns out it was the rear that was squealing. This is why I dislike rear discs... My slide pins must have been jammed or sticking because the inside pad on the drivers side was worn right out, while all other pads on my truck are still good. I had to order some new rear pads.
