Oil Dipsick Tube Mod Change

Recommended Posts

I have recently changed out the oil dipstick tube on my 2009 GMC Sierra (5.3L). The new tube has a mod that causes it to be relocated closer to the front of the engine between cylinders 4 and 6. This was no problem to accomplish, but the original dipstick is now too long. Does anyone have an idea of the length of the shorter dipstick. I can probably figure out where to mark the level indication if I can get a rough idea of the overall length.

Welcome bljsulli

I don't think anyone here can offer any advice if the tube's vendor did not provide such.

Change oil. Fill to correct level. Mark dipstick.
