Was hoping someone out there had the Chevy truck manuals on CD and was willing to burn them for me.  I would be willing to pay..just don't want to pay the price for the originals.  Anyone could help me out I'd appriciate it.

Since the manual is copyrighted, I'd doubt you'd find anyone willing to risk making an illegal copy?

...and no one here has downloaded anything from Kazaa, Napster or Morpheous either.

I found a set online at EBAY.  They were cheap  $10.  Only problem is that you need about 4 gig of harddrive space to load them all.  It comes as a set and has just about every Chevy vehicle back to97 or so.  go to ebay motors and search for Techline or GM Service Manuals.

I was planning to post a new thread about these, but then this one comes up.  My question is, how good are these?  I keep seeing them on eBay, but am wary (being from the old 'you get what you pay for' school and all).  The only manuals I have ever owned are the Helms variety, but plenty expensive for what I am after in this case.  If the CD's are just the same info electronically, great.  If they are not as good, I will wait a while and see if a set of Helms manuals shows up.

Hi to Canada from Canada.

I did order one of those manuals on CD from E-Bay, 5 to be exact and what a waste of moneyand these were copys not originals. Useless, Useless and did I say Useless. $50.00 CDN by the time I got it home. In the mean time I devolped a pin hole leak in my frost plugs in my 95 safari. I joined another forum URL=http://www.astrosafari.net and came across this link. URL=http://www.cybrrpartspro.com/Manual%20Lookup/cal_ModelLookup.html . Now I think this link is a hot link backdoor and may not be legal, #### I aint no lawyer, so it may not stay up to long. I saved it to my favorites and checked off the offline check box and saved links 3 deep. Now I have manuals for all 4 of my trucks and can work off line. I am considering purchasing a Chilton manual on CD but I hear the Mitchell ones are more detailed and after getting stung once I am not to quick to do it again. hope this saves you some money and if you are interested in the 5 CDs I purchased from E-Bay I could probaly work something out that would be agreeable to both.

Well I tried the links above and it seems that they don't have the silverado listed, well at least the 99 that I tried to look for.

I do have the ones from E-bay, 5 disks.

They are the tech line GM Service manuals.  I have used them several times since getting them for small stuff and have found them to be truely helpful.  Supposedly these are the ones the GM shops use.  The have very good pictures and directions.  They were a little difficult to understand at the begining which I had a hard time finding the information I wanted but once I figured them out I have so far found everything that I have looked for and I think they are pretty good.  The original price was $24 plus tax and $5 to shipping/handling so I got them for like $31 total.  The also allow you to print the directions and they have hot links in the directions if you need to say remove another component while working on one piece so you can quickly find how to remove something else that maybe in your way.

About the copy right thing, these are also copies and not original disks so I don't know how they get away with selling them on E-bay unless they have copy right permission.....YEAH RIGHT.

If anyone needs any information out of them then PM me.  They cover several years and different GM models.
