Truck topper prices

I have a 99 Sierra ext cab 2wd.

 

 I'm looking into getting a truck topper for the truck.  I was just wondering how much a basic topper would cost?

I don't know about new ones, but I think you could get a nice used one for under $5k.

 

Just be careful because some of the older units are very heavy, and might be too much weight for your 1500 series truck.

 

Most 1/2 ton trucks are running the Palimino type truck campers that have the "pop-up" roof, with about 12" of canvas around it.  These campers would be lighter, and would have less wind drag and sway.

I made a mistake in typing,  I dont want a truck camper....but a truck topper!!

Well I got one of the top of the line models from Leer adn it cost me a wopping $1300.  But they have many different models that are cheaper.

Fixed!!!

 

 

BTW, I have about $1100.00 in my fiberglass topper/cap.  It is the middle line model, but I added the carpet headliner and front slider.

 

A basic aluminum one will run about 1/2 that price.
