I have significant chipping on the front bumper of my '15 Denali HD, and had an apparent grocery cart collide with my back bumper. Today, I went for an estimate to have the bumpers sprayed with Line-x, color-matched (Summit White).

It would cost about $400 if they spray over the whole rear bumper, including the top cap and corner steps, or $700 to mask everything, and to stay with a stock look.

I'm interested in opinions, and also any experiences other members have had with Line-x and similar products Also, any comments on price quote would be appreciated. I value the opinions here - thanks in advance.

I like the "idea" of Line-x on bumpers. The back I think would be ok, but the front wouldn't. I have Line-x'd two trucks about 12 inches up from the bottom for rock chips and little scuffs from driving. They resist chipping and the Line-x holds up really well, but its tuff to get dirt out of. The final surface is quite rough, and in my opinion, being white, and on the front, the bug guts and road grime would embed itself so bad in the surface you'd be very unhappy. However, if you keep it clean normally, and don't mind a little elbow grease when you have to clean it, go for it.

Chebby, excellent point. Thanks for responding.

I was already a little hesitant because of the cost, so this is a deal breaker. I'm looking for ease of maintenance - not applying more elbow grease when I wash the truck. I'm not getting any younger.

Does anyone have other ideas for a solution? I guess the cheapest alternative is a bottle of touch-up paint.

I could consider it for the back end, but if I needed to do something to the front, I would just move on up to something more realistic. Like the Herd bumper and guard. Grocery carts are nothing. You can smack a deer head on or even glancing at road speed and not worry.

Have them wrapped in color match vinyl. The good stuff like 3M is very durable and when done correctly you cannot tell it is wrapped. It will look smooth and clean just like paint. I wrapped the lower trim below my wife's trunk on her traverse and it protects it from scratching and gouging the paint below it. Best yet white is easy to match with vinyl. Hope it helps, an nice truck. Ski
