My 2015 Silverado LTZ 4WD is making a popping sound (from the rear end) on slow turns and when driving slowly on uneven surfaces. It didn't do it the first three months I had it but has been doing it all summer. Been to the dealership three times and they said they're going to order new leaf springs for it when I bring it in for the first oil change. Anyone else having this problem?

Did you ever get this issue resolved? I had the same noise during the same situations (Parking lot/ driveway maneuvers. ) the noise was coming from the rear shocks. I put two new ones on and the knocking is now gone.

I took mine to the dealer, but they couldn't replicate the noise. My SA said to drive around the area and find a place that will make the noise and he we ride with me to hear it. Hopefully that will get the ball rolling.

Dealer still has my truck 2 weeks last time and now its been another week with the " engineer " ....if its not done by next week which will be a month total .....I'm calling GM & demanding my payment be refunded by them.

My 2015 silverado LT shaker after 75 mph, but the dealership patched a tire and said it might not hold. Doesn't sound too safe to me.

But at first it sounded like a hollow krink noise on uneven driveways or dirt roads. The service manager said right away that it was the leaf springs. They Greased them and torqued everything to factory specs. Now that noise is still there, but every time i stop and go and turn, even when someone gets in or out of the truck you can hear the leaf springs. It is super annoying and embarrassing. You purchase a 40k+ truck brand new and it shouldn't make this noise. The GM customer support on this forum is trying to help me but it has been months of dealing with them and the dealership, just to hear them say it will have to be serviced (greased) regularly. Even though it only goes away for a day or so. Any other members have different solutions? Oh, you can also grab the tire and rock the truck back and forwards and hear it that way as well. Sorry about the rant, I'm just f**king pissed and want this issue resolved.

BWDC, Got bad news for you, those GM "Reps" that troll this site are only here to run interference between you and GM. In all my years on this site I never heard anyone say the online reps actually did something to facilitate having a dealership change their attitude and actually help them That's their entire history here. They work for GM, not you. Who else are they going to look out for? They tell you they will plead your case with GM; they tell you they will do whatever it takes and then they tell you to be patient and wait. A while later, after hearing NOTHING, you call them or the dealer and all of a sudden no one knows who you are or what your problem is. They are sorry you fell thru the cracks but it was someone else's job. They advise you to start the process over by taking truck to the dealer. Dealer says it's been so long they thought your problem was solved because they never heard back from you (or the reps) and they closed out your ticket. Know who is on your side. Good luck.

Mine is a '14 1500 Z71 4wd crew cab with 18,000 miles and its doing this bad. Its quite embarrassing to drive through my parking lot at work b/c its so loud it makes people stop and look. Been doing it for a while now and I can't tell where its coming from. I took the spare completely out and it still makes the noise. Torqued the leaf spring bolts, shock mount bolts and anything else I could find and still no change. When I shut any of the doors with a little force there is something under the truck that rattles but I haven't been able to locate it.

Now I have a squeak in the front area that is driving me nuts. It happens every time I any small bump in the road. I like this truck but its driving me nuts with all the noises. It will be going to the dealership shortly.

Update. GM said there is not fix for the leaf springs. NO SHIT! Just replace the damn things. They offered me $500 Chevy parts voucher for the inconvenience. (for now) I'm either going to get more out of them or get the springs replaced. It is far from over.

7 trips to the dealer for me - spread out over 1.5 years. They ended up replacing shocks, springs, and although it helped the pops and creaks at one point... it has been back. Truck squeaks like a 1978 Dodge.

I'm done with truck and the awful clunking 6 speed. Getting a new 2016 6.2 with 8 speed soon..
