New Problem Seat belt chime sounds at random times while driving

Recommended Posts

Sounds like the seat belt switch is not working. They shouldn't have too hard a time figuring that one. I think only the fronts do that. The passenger only does it if someone is sitting there and the truck senses someone is sitting there via a sensor in the seat that detects weight of a person on the seat. I can't remember if the overhead console light for the airbag change at all?

Same thing happened to me. I discovered it only happened when my wife was in the passenger seat. Turned out she was putting the seat belt into the center seat belt buckle instead on the right passenger buckle. When it happens again check to see if the no passenger seat belt light is on.
