Gmc jimmy wiring short

Reamo83

Question

I have a 2000 gmc jimmy 4wd 6cyl and I've resorted to starting it and unhooking battery because of short cause my brights to not work and giving me a dead battery after shutting it off. It was second hand and haven't got much other then that for problems. Could my multifunction switch for my lights be shorting out?

Sounds like you got my Jimmy's brother ...

Just pissin in the wind here, but could be the BCM as well. I had the same issue with the High beams not working. Ended up rewiring the whole circuit, and installing a floor dimmer switch out of a '69 Nova. I'm glad that POS will no longer haunt me ...
