General Motors is recalling about 9,000 2016 Chevy Colorados and GMC Canyons. The problem is that the center armrest console latch may not stay secured in a crash. During the crash the handgun, bowling ball, and pet rock you have inside your console may exit and fly about the cabin causing you or others harm. At least that is the scenario that NHTSA imagines could happen.

The affected vehicles were build in August and September, so they are fresh off the dealer lots and still have that new-truck smell. Owners may not be pleased to be informed of a problem within weeks of buying a new truck. You can lookup your VIN here at GM's Recall Lookup site to see if your vehicle is affected.

Add to that the water issues are hurting these trucks as well as the full size trucks.

Already, there is youtube videos of water leaking past door seals on the new Colorados and Canyons, also, the dreaded OnStar antenna leak is happening too.

Come on GM, get with the program!!!!
