Anyone spot any dress up coil cover/valve cover trim for new style eng

Recommended Posts

Surely someone must make some nicer looking/dressed up coil cover/valve covers for the new style engine by now?

Can't find a thing online. Would be nice to spruce things up under the hood a bit with some chrome or carbon fiber or just something different.

Anyone spot anything anyplace???

I saw a couple of them on here, but can't remember who posted them. There is a cover and it came with a cadillac emblem I think. Someone had painted it silver and changed the emblem to a Chevy emblem.

Yeah, I've seen that also... that's an intake cover. I'm thinking more rocker covers. Every SBC since the 50's has had some blingy rocker covers made for them. These new engines have a plastic cover over ugly lumpy aluminum rocker covers now, so I just wanted to see if there are any dress ups available. Might do the Cadillac intake cover yet... we shall see.

btw there is a thread, http://www.gm-trucks.com/forums/topic/164105-engine-bay-got-you-downclean-it-up-with-a-new-cover/page-4

Cadillac Escalade 6.2L Engine Motor Cover = 12643295 (fits only the 5.3 & 6.2 EcoTec3 engines)

Cover studs, 2x are needed if you don't have any = 16616691 (unable to verify this part number)

Chevy Emblem 92068693 (this is off the Camaro engine cover)

You will need to remove the caddie symbol, and add your brand, guys are using wheel hub caps and cutting the plastic prongs of the back and gluing them on

ebay sales them,

That's not what I'm talking about though... that's the intake manifold... I'm looking for valve cover covers... they have a plastic cap over the lumpy rocker covers that would be nice to spruce up with chrome or carbon fiber or something. Can always spray them with enamel, but then they might scratch and look worse than before I started

I never found aftermarket coil covers so went ahead and had mine painted to match the rest of my painted plastics. Local body shop painted for me so matches factory paint perfect.

Ridersfan you did say "spruce", I know your looking for valve/coil covers, but the Caddie engine cover does help a little. I may add the Caddie engine cover & swap emblems but I won't be painting my valve/coil covers.

now on the valve/coil covers its a niche market for these, as very few people will remove parts for looks, as GM is getting strict.

ok, so the new LT1 does cover up "some" the valve/coil covers, using the fuel covers. Not sure we can do this without swapping intakes

looks like everyone is painting/hydro dipping the engine & valve/coil colors to "spruce" up the engine bay's (even if we swapped intakes, our trans tube and heater core hose's are in the way on the passenger side bulk head/wall)

Well the problem here is these are trucks, not to many people are out to spruce up the engine bays like intake covers and valve covers like they do with Camaro's, Corvette's etc. Probably 95% of the people that buy them could care less on what their engine looks like, as long as it runs like it should, heck most probably wouldn't even clean the engine bay to get the dirt and oil off of it. So most likely you will either have to make something work that was designed for another vehicle or make something like that on your own, there is nothing and probably never will be anything that will be made aftermarket for the valve covers on our trucks unfortunately. What people above have shown are about it for what is out there that will cover the intake/valve covers for our trucks.
