Edge programmer. Thoughts?

Recommended Posts

Had an edge programmer on my old f150, worked fine for a while. One day when I was trying to change the tune it froze, locked up the whole truck. Had to contact edge support Monday am to have them send me some files to reset the tuner. I was able to get the truck back to stock, but after trying to upload a tune again it did the same thing all over again.

I was sick of it at that point and ended up selling the tuner.

Canned tunes will do nothing for you, If your going to invest some money in a tune look at BlackBear. You will see way better results and much increased drive ability out of your truck. Lots of people on her also use Diablew tunes! A little more money but you get so much more out of it.

I have an edge cts2 tuner on my 2015 Silverado 5.3l high country. It is nice for monitoring everything and definetely looks good in the truck, but the touch screen is a pain in the ass to work on the fly. The street tune is nice, but the transmission shifts are extremely hard to the point that it feels hurtful on the poor thing :(

The edge tuners don't have very many options when making a "custom" tune. You can't customise your transmission shifts, it doesn't have a high idle mode.

Long story short, it's a nice tuner visually and for monitoring, but performance wise there isn't very much freedom to change anything and for the $800 that I spent I don't feel that is satisfied me on the performance side of things.

Perfect answer I was looking for. Guess I'll stick with my original plan and go custom. Thanks.
