I love my truck :)

I love my wife; I love my children; I like my truck.

If I become annoyed with my wife or children; I deal with it. If I get annoyed with my truck (or any other vehicle for that matter); it's on the lot the next business day and I'm inside a younger, prettier model that smells great with no regrets.

I'm single with no kids but totally understand where you're coming from on that. For me personally however, my truck is my baby. This is the first new vehicle I've ever had which is why I am the way I am about my truck and why I'm so happy that everything is going well with it. Some people don't have the money to just trade up when they get annoyed with a vehicle which again is why I'm so thrilled my personal experience has been so exceptional.

I'm in the same boat as you. Single and no kids and I plan to keep this truck as long as I can especially since this is also my first brand new truck I bought. My last truck was a '98 Z71 that I bought used in '04 and kept until '14 when I bought this one. It has everything I wanted and doesn't have anything I don't care for. I just wish it didn't have 3.08 gears, but other than that it's perfect for me, even the color and was lucky enough that it was on the lot.

Jeremy, your post deserves you a beer my friend! I get so sick of all the whining posts and what's sad is the rants are on the main section of this forum and not where they should be. Anyways, almost 27k amazing miles and many more to go! I feel the same with my truck. It puts a smile on my face everyday I drive it! Mash the go pedal and its wooohooo! :driving: Cheers to the happy campers!

First of all, great thread.

I love my truck too! Sure I love my wife, kids, family, dogs more, but the truck is right up there! It's ahead of my motorcycles right now, anyway.

It's more than just transportation. It's a hobby. I love working on it, washing it, driving it, and talking about it. I've got 20k miles on my '15 and my only real complaint is the stupid seat moving. I fixed that with a clamp and I can live with it.

Overall, WAY more positives than negatives. These forums can be places to come and complain, but there will always be those people. On this board, I prefer to offer information and help others when I can. And it's full of knowledgeable, helpful people, too.

Ya I know some people have had real issues, but some people are so nitpicky with these trucks. I remember one guy complaining that the A/C only blows around the high 50°s when one of his old cars could blow mid to high 40°s lol. I was thinking that be lucky you have an HVAC system that even has an auto feature because my first truck was an '86 Chevy C10 that didn't even have factory A/C so my A/C was the vent windows in front of the door windows. By the way, I'm not talking about it didn't work, it literally had no A/C system at all, just the fan which on a hot day it didn't help. The only time it sucked was when it was raining since I drive with the windows down anyways. I know nothing is perfect, but I don't have any complaints about the truck other than the 3.08 gears which I plan on changing. It's almost like some people just want to look for things to complain about. I've noticed a lot of people that give reviews (mainly on movies and tv shows) want to feel like a critic so they want to critique everything. Read reviews on Netflix and you'll see what I'm talking about. Trust me, I don't mind speaking my mind, but I'm not going to find something small to complain just to have something bad to say.

My trucks been a trouble maker and I still love it. I think a lot of folks who drive trucks love them.

Been driving GMC's since 92 and have liked them all...my 16 I'm in love with, I get giddy every time I walk out and see her

Thanks for the thread, this is a great place to hear about issues and find solutions but I enjoy sharing ideas on upgrades and hearing the positives as well!

I still sort of do that. But, lately since it's gotten warmer I seem to have a problem with damn birds wanting to shit all over it like it's a public bathroom. And I mean it would be 2-3 runs from just below the door window to the steps and also on the mirror. It finally dawned on me after about 3 days of them shitting on it everyday in the same spot that I realized they stand on the mirror and shit so now I been folding the mirror in. Since then I've only had shit on the mirror and nothing else so not that big of an issue but it still pisses me off lol.

I can't remember where I heard it but I'm positive I heard somewhere that birds are more likely to shit on black vehicles. I totally believe this having driven black vehicles for 8 years. Even this morning, noticed some dropping down the grill and on the side of the truck. If only it wasn't so frowned upon to take my 12ga out front of my apartment building or I'd have a blast (no pun intended) solving the issue. Something about scaring the neighbors or something... I dunno....

The thing is I haven't had a real issue with bird shit until about 2 weeks ago. Before that it was probably normal.

It's great to see the positive comments! I think they sold something like 530,000 2014's and more than 600,000 2015's and that just Silverado's and the overwhelming majority are happy with their purchase!

I replaced my 1994 Chevy 1500 (Silverado package) with 305k miles on it for my 2014 Silverado, 20 years sure does make a difference, but I still love my old (and new) truck

My truck is a lease. The lease is up in December. I'll be buying it out when that comes around.

I do like that truck a lot.
