Rearview Mirror Will NOT Stay Put!!!

Recommended Posts

Every morning, without fail, I have to re-adjust my rearview mirror. On my 2003, it was where I left it. With the 2014 I purchased two weeks ago, it is always DOWN a hair (as in showing more of the truck bed cover than rear view.

I plan to take the truck back to the dealer to get the issue remedied. Hopefully, it will take ONE trip and they will resolve the issue.

NOTE: I follow the directions... I grasp the rearview mirror at the middle of assembly with one hand and lift it so that MOST of the view is rearward... I always get a little of the bed cover since the mirror is not square.

Anybody else dealing with this annoying issue?!?

Good grief... auto memory recall. Will retry and see if the seat and pedals stay where I need. TOO COMPLEX!!!

I haven't had issues with the memory seats but my rear view mirror used to do the same thing. It's settled down now. I bought it new in July of 2015 and haven't had the issue in a few months. I don't know if it's a weather thing or just needed to settle in.

I never use mine. There is a tailgate in the way.

Mine did the same thing. Since I am the only driver, I just put a dab of super glue at the pivot points on the mirror. Has stayed put ever since.

I will do this. Once I confirmed my memory seat setting, the mirror still wants to 'droop' each morning. Super glue it is!

My 2016 that's just over a month old is doing the same thing and it's bothering the ever-living sh*t out of me. I know that it's new, needs to wear in, that temps affect it, etc., but it's really annoying. I really don't want to glue the thing in place either, mainly because I shouldn't have to, but also because someone else MAY drive it, although unlikely, and I don't want them to have any issues if they do.

Hmmm.... I never really thought about having to readjust the rear view mirror in our 16 Silverado. Now that I read this I have had to adjust my mirror a couple times already, just finished asking my wife if she has moved it and she hasn't. Only had the truck for a few days now and now going to make a conscious effort to keep track of how many times the mirror droops. I cant really glue it since there are 2 drivers.

Hi Alter,

Sorry to hear that your mirror is drooping. Please let me know if this continues so that I may provide you with some additional assistance if desired.

Best,

Anthony Z.
