The Mad Veteran Posted April 25, 2016 Posted April 25, 2016 Hello everyone, I just ordered my 2016 GMC Sierra 1500 SLT 5.3L with standard bed, crew cab, stone blue metallic, 3.42 ratio, 4x4, Z71 two weeks ago and this wait is killing me! How long did the 5.3L guys wait to have their truck built? I was told 6-8 weeks but we will see. I sold my 2011 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon since it wasn't practical anymore for towing and loading things in the back of it. I've looked at GMC's for years and should have jumped on one a long time ago but the time has come. Things I've ordered: - Weather Tech floor mats with full coverage in the rear - TonnoPro LoRoll Tonneau cover - Airaid modular tube - AEM dryflow intake filter I would like to know what the stock tint percentage is on the rear windows of the truck. As soon as I get the truck I'd like to get the front two windows to match the rears so I was thinking 20-30%. I've been looking at lifts and I'd like to go 4-6" and throw some 35's on it but that won't be for quite awhile if at all. Warren
TJay74 Posted April 25, 2016 Posted April 25, 2016 As far as the tint goes I always just let the shop put some up against the stock stuff and match it as close as possible. Lift wise just know if you lift the truck and change the tire size that aggressively you will need custom tuning to the ECM in order to fix the speedo as the dealers can not change the speedo calibration. If you do that and have any powertrain issues down the road GM could give you issues over it, another member on here went thru that over making the changes to tire size and turning the AFM off.
emeryz28 Posted April 25, 2016 Posted April 25, 2016 I went to a local shop and the guy found a 3M higher end tint that matched the rear tint exactly on my 15 Silverado crew. I think it was around 20%
Doobs41378 Posted April 25, 2016 Posted April 25, 2016 Welcome aboard. Let us know how the Weather Tech mats work out for you. Lots of threads on here about them.

Yeah the lift and tires I had on my Jeep messed up the ride, gas mileage and drivability. So I'm not going to mess with it for a long time, if at all. Welcome aboard. Let us know how the Weather Tech mats work out for you. Lots of threads on here about them. Thank you. I read threw a few, black looked the best and the fit should be right but we will see. I went straight through the company to make sure of the best fit and I'll be returning them if it doesn't workout. I went to a local shop and the guy found a 3M higher end tint that matched the rear tint exactly on my 15 Silverado crew. I think it was around 20% I think 20% is what it will come down to. My Jeep had stock tint on the rears and 20% was perfect.
