BTW, mine straight up is 100 kph, not 120 kph as you suggest.

Checked mine and corrected my original guess.

Point was the dial is painted is different so when mph is selected it uses a lot less of the dial than a US truck, but when km's selected theamunt of dial used would be similar to a US truck set for miles.

(I suppose that a US truck, set for kilometers would be able to use most of the dial before the speed limiter kicks in since 100 mph is 160 kph)

To be clear, this is a model built for the Canadian market. The VIN denotes this with a "C". He lives in the US and would have service and warranty work done here.

The VIN code does not indicate the market the truck is built for, it indicates the country it was built in.

1st digit - 1=US, 3= Mexico

2nd digit - G=General Motors

3rd digit - C=Chev truck, T=GMC truck

4th digit - GVW and body style (there are 11 possible values)

5th and 6th digits - chassis and series (2dw/4wd/1500/2500/3500/trim/non US or Canada

7th - restraint system

8th - engine type

9th - check digit

10th - model year

11th - Plant location (F=Flint, Z=fort Wayne, G=Silao)

12 thru 17 - sequence number (the number sequentially assigned during production)

They must track Canada /US and which US emission code some other way.
