I posted a couple of weeks ago that I got rear ended pretty hard by a car

I thought the frame was probably bent by how hard the person hit me and the damage done from the bed hitting the back of the cab on the drivers side.Well last week the body shop guy at the chevy dealer said frame is not bent so you should have it back in 2 weeks I said ok.Then he called me Thursday and said they were waiting on a glass guy to pull the back window out of the truck because there was a lot more damage to the back of the cab then what they thought.I said ok well just do your best because I would like it back as soon as possible.I just don't know how there could not be any frame damage when the bed of the truck got pushed into the cab and screwed it up so bad.So I asked him how can the bed move forward over 3 to 4 inches forward and crease the back of the cab so bad.He said that the bolts that hold the bed down probably sheared in the impact. So I said that is probably true but why did the bed come back on the passenger side and the drivers side but there is a big difference in gap you would think if the bolts got sheared it would of stayed where it was at.Should I have someone follow me home and make sure my truck is not dog walking because it got hit hard?

Body shops take forever. I'm not even sure how they operate to be honest... my wife's suv hit a hog and it was in for 5 weeks for a bumper and some BS on the front. Good idea getting someone to drive behind you. I'd take it on a test drive before I sign the papers for the car. Have the 2nd person follow you on the test drive.

This would drive me crazy! The time in the body shop is not unusual, but the sheared bolt type of explanation is unacceptable. The need to have a friend follow you to see if your truck is "dog walking" is unacceptable. In my opinion, you should be provided with laser-precision data supporting the condition of your frame. Was your body shop recommended by your insurance company? If so, get them to send their adjuster to help. Your insurance company may be looking for a good deal from body shops but generally want satisfied clients. I guarantee your worry of a bent frame won't go away because of a test drive. Get data confirming the trueness of your frame. This does not come from Joe's eye balls or his Husky brand tape measure. The technology is there in a proper auto body shop.

I find it hard to believe they would allow him to drive off for a test drive before signing anything or paying. The only way is if they have someone that works at the shop ride with him and that's a 50/50 chance if they'll even have anybody that's able to ride. A body shop like a mechanic's shop won't let you drive off until they get paid.

IMO

Be more concerned, go by and check on the truck, show some interest.

Make them explain and show you.

Just make sure you are beating the hell out of that rental unit.
