lsu33duckaholic Posted May 1, 2016 Posted May 1, 2016 Trying to figure out if they put a free flow catalytic converter inside the 2015 chevrolet silverado 2500hd (6.0L) I'm wanting to put an exhaust system on my truck for improved gas milage, but would like to know if GM is still putting free flow catalytic converters on their trucks. Any info you could provide for me regarding GM catalytic converter on 2500HDs or good exhaust systems, would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G890A using Tapatalk
newdude Posted May 2, 2016 Posted May 2, 2016 Exhaust won't change MPG on a 6.0. Mine made no difference (did it for sound). Exhaust I put on my 5.3 made no MPG difference either. Cats are "free flow" (if you will). 6.0 needs a good tune (Blackbear Performance) if you are looking to gain any sort of MPG.

If so, was the difference in mpg worth the cost of the tuner?

Never have used them but they are highly talked about on this forum. Blackbear does custom tuning rather than a handheld like a Diablo tuner. http://www.blackbearperformance.com/ http://www.blackbearperformance.com/services.asp They would do the AutoCal and EFILive V2 Email Tuning with your truck.

Thank you for your input, I'll definitely do some research on Blackbear.
