I saw a few setups on the huge lift thread in this section..

Who else has a 6" lift w/ 22" wheels and 35" tires? Whats your setup? Any drawbacks or problems?

Ive got a 2015 gmc sierra 1500 slt 4x4 z71 w/ a 2" rc front leveling kit. It has 22" sey wheels..

Thinking about getting a 6", maybe fabtech, with 35" tires. Probably wont do it bc Im woried about the side effects haha.. not being able to get into parking garages and other height limitations as well as 3pt turns, decreased gas mileage, noise, etc.. But it sure does look good so im considering ha

Thoughts?

Here's how she sits now.

My last 4 trucks have had 6" plus lifts. They all had 35's. All the stuff you mention comes in to play. Decreased gas mileage, excess wear on seats from sliding in, no more parking garages or drive through car washes. More maintenance on wheel bearings and ball joints, especially if running 12 or 14 wide wheels. There is a lot of negative drawbacks to having a big lift and big tires not to mention the tire costs for 35x22

I'm 38 years old and just bought a 2016 z71 crew. I put a leveling kit on it the next week. And getting my 33x20 tires and new wheels next week. I've decided I'm getting too old for all that hassle. But I admit, they sure do look good lifted...

Yeah.. the more I think about it the more I will probably just get more aggressive tires on this truck.. I never did get into jacking trucks up and what not, I grew up with sports cars and was constantly putting my money into those so I too learned my lesson.. I think.. haha
