6 lug 14 bolt?

I've got a 2005 silverado 1500. I've heard there are 6 lug 14 bolt rear ends that will almost bolt right up to half ton pickups. Is there any truth to that?

Half truth. Not necessary. The 10 bolt can be strengthened. The 14 bolt you are referring to is a semi-float rear end that had a 14 bolt cover, with 12 bolt inners. Basically used in 90's light 25's, the 05-07 SS and Vortec Max, and 07-13 1500 pickups with the 6.0 and 6.2. I looked into the swap, it is not worth the wxtra work of converting. For the cost and work put in you can have a strong 10 bolt with upgraded shafts and carrier.
