Why won't my Sierra 1500 accept running boards ??

I have a 2000 GMC Sierra 1500 that wont accept running boards. I can't figure out why. It's an extended cab (2 small rear doors open backwards) I have a 6" RCX lift kit and a 1.5" zone offroad body lift kit.

I have bought the Dee Zee DZ371529 https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000NLQOCE/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

and the brackets don't line up, nothing fits. cant figure out why. Huge waste of time.

Then I just bought the Ionic 5" Black Premium Curved Oval Nerf Bars - IAS-402119BP https://www.amazon.com/Ionic-Black-Premium-Curved-Oval/dp/B015R5OMJW/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&qid=1466537282&sr=8-7&keywords=ionic+5%22 and same story. Brackets don't line up. Support brackets don't line up. Bracket cuts into my e-brake cable. Hardware is missing. WTF already??

To make it more difficult the first body bolt I remove just glides in and out, and will not screw in. Not even sure what to do with this?

I'm beginning to think I have some kind of factory freak that is different from every other truck on the road. Nobody seems to make correct brackets and hardware to fit my truck.

From Amazon, in the reviews for the DEE ZEE:

Verified Purchase
HUGE waste of time. DO NOT ORDER. Does NOT fit 2000 Sierra 1500 Ext cab as advertised. Not even close. Brackets will not fit vehicle whatsoever, they were fabricated incorrectly from chinaland. Getting tired of receiving junk from amazon that's either broken, or doesn't fit as advertied. Which happens about 80% of the time. You suck!

No comments left for the Ionic.

My guess would be like the review above, China junk that just doesn't fit.

I'm sure there are people who can verify this, but you know how the trucks changed styles during the 1999-2001 years?

I think there were some ".5" years in there. So your 2000 truck might really be on either a 1999 or 2001 frame. I'm sure somebody will chime in who's more familiar with that generation. Otherwise if you ask your dealership to check your VIN, they can probly tell you more.

I know my old truck was a 1998 and everything had been the same for 10 years, then in 1999 they started over from scratch.
