'05 5.3 broken valve spring

My '05 Z-71 with 80,000 miles broke down recently and had to be towed in for service - it was diagnosed with a broken #1 exhaust valve spring. GM dealer replaced the broken spring and all is good now. Wondering if this is a rare occurrence, or can I expect more springs to fail? The truck has been rock solid up until now, I bought it new and it's treated me well so far....

IMO Rare. Dealer repaired. Big $

Of course we broke down in the middle of nowhere, towing our 21' travel trailer.....what a way to start a weeklong vacation. Nearest repair shop was a Chevy dealership about 40 miles away. We were kind of at the mercy of bad luck....and it did cost more than it probably should have.... Glad the valve didn't get into an argument with the piston....now that would have been expensive!
