Help me figure out what this is and where it goes.

I found this rolling around in the back of my new 2016 GMC Sierra CC.

I don't know what it is, where it goes and where to put it back on....

I found it under the rear passenger side seat near the jack stand.

Help would be much appreciated!

It belongs on the hook that holds your back seat to the back wall. Take it to your dealer

I just checked and you are correct -- the passenger rear seat is moving on that side because that isn't in there. Thank you very much for your help

Yes you can, pull the rear seat and reattach it.

Done and Done!!!! Couple socket wrenches and got that smaller rear seat out. Through the plastic deal back on and reattached the seat. Took some sweat in my hot garage but well worth not dealing with the dealer.

Pull on the back of your rear seats toward the front of your truck and if they move at all you will know they aren't in there.

My larger side of the rear seats doesn't move a millimeter, but before I replaced the plastic piece the smaller side moved about a centimeter forward. Now it is locked down. I hope this fixes the rattle I kept hearing back there. I bet it does.

I also used a flashlight to see behind the seat from the top and could tell which one it came out of before I started removing the seat.

Yea but at least it was an easy fix.

Had to fix mine over a year ago. I put a few zip ties on each corner of mine so it won't come off again. Checked the other side and is was half off so zip tied it to.
