4L60E trans fluid change

Just to be clear, if I encounter the guy who engineered that filter neck seal (that goes into the transmission) in a bar we're going to have words. Everytime I do a pan/filter job on my truck (my old 04 and now the 13) I swear I'm not going to change that seal out. Well, next time I'm really not. I got a couple of scratches on that soft tranny metal trying to get that stupid thing out. Next time, it stays! Has anybody ever ran into problems leaving theirs in?

Haha, nice to know I'm not the only one that's had that issue.

Just leave the old one in, that's what I've done on my olds trucks in the past, never had any issue, out of all the trucks I've had over the years (10 in 26 years) I think I've only gotten that seal out of 1 of them!

My 93 with 4L60E, I never changed that seal. It got the filter changed 5 times before I had to replace the trans. at 230k miles.
