possibly a deal too good to pass up

Well Saturday i drove from Virginia to Chillicothe,Ohio and I averaged 20.7 and had a 400mile best of 21.8. I was surprised that my gas mileage was that good a 3.42. What's weird is I'm pretty sure that my 3.08 of my Silverado wouldn't have got that good of mileage. I went through the turnpik, too. Why do you think my mileage was better?

Don't know. I have a 2014 silverado lt z71 with the LT off road tires and a 3.08 gearing. Did a 2500 mile trip and got about 19-20 on the freeway. In city at home I get crap. Only near 12-13. If I ever get 15 I'll be lucky.

I think the 3.42 gears did better because of the hills; i also noticed that in the city and town my mpg is better than with my 5.3 3.08
