The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) has released the results of its safety testing of the Buick Envision.

The results prove that the Chinese-built Buick is just as tough as any American-built crossover its size. The new Envision scored Good on every crash test. When equipped with its optional forward crash prevention system, it earns the Top Safety Pick Plus designation.

The Envision was the first Chinese-built vehicle tested by the Institute.

The CTD went between the airbags and hit the steering wheel and dashboard in the video? How does this qualifiy for "Top Safety Pick Plus designation."? You can see the paint/dye marks were the CTD's head scraps the side and steering airbags! The trunk of your body is heald back and head travel is enough to rip it of your shoulders! I can see a lot of Tetraplegia quadriplegia, from 35 mph crashes in this thing I cant believe they released that video! I see a fail in safety.

It is no surprise that a china built vehicle got good scores, they're building it under the oversight of a civilized nation. They can pull that off just fine (look at most electronics). The catch is when/if they're allowed to sell their home brand junk in this country. It isn't worthy of our roads.

There is a smoking tire where, I think Hennessey, was on talking about the Beijing auto show. It's hilarious. (Paraphrase) "It looks like a carbon copy of the F150. Then they pop the hood. No body structure anywhere, the outer fender and bumper look like they are just stuck together, like nothing it holding it together, with what looks like a lawn mower engine in the middle of the huge engine bay"
