I messed up on the rules a bit for posting on the vehicle builds thread.

I have re-started this at this link (has my username in the title now): http://www.gm-trucks.com/forums/topic/193187-endurante221bs-silverado-1500-3rd-gen-modifications-to-consider/

It's a misprint, it means 2014 and up are 3rd. And also I would assume it means 3rd because it's only the 3rd gen to call all models a Silverado and use trim letters.

Before you had Silverado and Cheyenne from 88 until 98.

Then 87 and older you had Silverado, Cheyenne, Custom Deluxe and Scottsdale. Those model names were actually the trim level.

Also from 88-98 you saw C or K with 1500, 2500 or 3500. The letter said if it was 2wd © or 4x4 (K). Like my last truck, a Silverado K1500 means it was a 4x4 1/2 ton. From 87 and older it was 10, 20 and 30 instead of 1500, 2500 and 3500.

Been reading up more on this and I've arrived onto the K2XX platform. I read that it goes from 2014 to 2017. New platform (T1XX) to start on 2018 it seems. Guess I should have typed K2XX onto the title instead of 3rd Gen.
