Hi all I have been thinking about this alot and maybe some feed back from you guys would help. I have a 2014 GMC siearra double cab 50kmiles with a 6cyl. Z71 as well . I feel like the ride is so rough and rigid I feel every thing I feel like if I ran over rice I would feel it lol . When I first bought it I don't remember it feeling that way drove more like a Cadillac . Have any of you guys had the same issue if so what did you upgrade to . my suggestions, comments would be great

what kind and size of tires & wheels do you have? are they inflated properly?

20's and 22's ride rough anyway, so if you have those you're just going to have to live with it.

I've had the same thing happen to me. At least some of it, I believe, is in my head. But my tires (POS wranglers) are rather worn, have impact damage on the sidewalls and, according to the tire shop tech, have lost a lot of their flexibility. I can't wait till these wear out and I get some Michelins.

Tons of guys recommend Bilstein shocks. Either the 4600 or 5100's. Fox makes a great product, just slightly more expensive.

Thanks I'm going to look into it

I'm waiting on a shop to give me a estimate on the Bilsteins right now. Waited all day actually. Maybe I should find another shop. Would have had them on if they had there poop together. Then I could tell you if they smooth the ride out over the stockers. .

No return call. You would think it would be a quick buck along with the markup on the shocks. Oh well I will order them online and have a shop install them get a alignment. I put a jack under the truck and raised it 1 3/4" ( equal to the Bilsteins) and it looked ok.. Needed to go a little higher but if I still think I need more lift then maybe I will do a 1 1/2" body lift too. Sorry I don't mean to hijack the thread!

It's a truck, it will ride rough. If you go with a more offroad and desert running type shock it will ride nicer. If you level it and use preload spacers it will ride better in some areas and a little worse in others. Gotta pick you poison, either way you can't expect a truck to ride like your last car. These trucks rise much better than even trucks ten years ago, they have come a long way as more people buy them for image and city duties.

Good luck,

Tyler
