You did in a round the world way, but it doesn't matter what group it is...it's still synthetic.

The reason I elaborated on the different groups is that many still feel that Group III (recognized as a synthetic by the industry) is not a "true" synthetic and they get to quibbling about some brand claiming to be a full synthetic and they really aren't. They get all caught up in marketing semantics and usually have little detailed understanding of different base oil groups. This is why they will argue that brand XYZ full synthetic is not a "true" synthetic.
