First world problems...

Ok, so either I am a little slow (very possible!) or I am missing an important step...my '08 had the remote 'synced' to my truck...and it would recognize when I (my remote) unlocked the doors and my wife's...and it would adjust the seats to the person...when you use the remote start it would recognize the outside temp and if it were cold outside, it would turn on the seat heaters...

 

When I first got my truck, I synced my remote so it does recognize me as 'Driver 2' and my wife as 'Driver 1'...

 

Now, I went to my settings and worked through all the steps I found in the owners manual, my truck still recognizes me, but it will not automatically move my seats back to my position (if my wife drives my truck) and it won't turn the cooled or heated seats on...

 

Again...I know this is first world problems and all...but I figure if I have the options I paid for, I want them to work...

 

Any advise? or are there some key steps the owners manual left out that I need to go back and try?

The seat heater and cooler need to be enabled in infotainment settings under vehicle.

 

As far as remote operation, needed to do mine twice before it remembered them

My 2017 the seats don't move to 1 or 2.... until 1 or 2 key is inserted.

Interesting. My 2015 moves the seat once the door is opened.

 

Requiring the key to be inserted is stupid. My wife is so small that I couldn't get into the seat when the seat is set to her setting to get the key inserted to move the seat automatically.

It's not a requirement - you can also press and hold the 1 or 2 on the door anytime.............

Mine did this also, I can not remember what it was called but there is a setting that tells the truck to adjust the seats, mirrors, etc when the 2 different remotes are used. i was pissed at first because I thought I turned everything I wanted on in settings but when I went back in I figured out I did no enable that feature.

this is my issue also...my wife is 5'2...and before i can get in...i need to hold the button down until it is in the correct position (not just press it and let it go)...not an issue unless it is pouring rain like it was this past week...which is what prompted me to ask the question(s)...i figured they were all related...

What above posts are related to is easy exit.

Need to set the easy exit to memory, with the wifes key in the ignition move the seat down and back. Push set then the button forward of the 1+2 buttons. ;)

 

Then when she opens the door the seat will go where you want it.

Easy exit is actually a 3rd position that it goes to when you exit - is it not. I opted out thinking it could crush someone's feet sitting in the back - or more often than that - my lunch and packages etc I always set back there.

The seats will move with the remote function on the 14's and 15's. They changed the way it worked starting in 16. I was doing the same thing, use my remote and the seat does not move on my 16, went through the manuals and find they had changed the way it works. I personally liked the way it worked on my 14 a lot better.

Yes but you can set whatever position you want

Definitely a "first world problem" and a historically recent issue. I recall adjusting the bench seat with two passengers joining you for the adjustment!

LOL........ Our 2015 Outback moves the seats to 1 or 2 with a touch of the button - no need to hold it - no key needed. It does require the key to operate the garage door openers.

 

The Silverado does not require a key to operate the garage door openers. Go figure............
