What is the correct Delco Dexron VI gallon jug part number?

KLRV6

Question

What is the correct Dexron VI gallon jug part number? There seems to be so many versions of this trans fluid. I want to make sure I'm getting the latest. This will be for the six speed trans.

2015 Silverado CC 5.3 4wd.

Thank you.

Silverado .... 1500?

If you work your truck, I'd use the Signature Series. Been using that in mine since I hit 40k miles. Transmission was starting to make a louder and louder noise from 2k miles up to 40k miles - when I switched to Amsoil, it slowed that progression down quite a bit. Probably saved the thing from grenading - has 91k on it now.

The way I look at it, GM is in the business of selling new vehicles - not making them last forever. That's why I never use OE fluids.

Click on the "transmission" tab above the products:

I will probably get some 'feedback' on this comment but the only fluid I will put an Allison transmission is a TES-295 rated fluid:

(Frankly, I was surprised that GM recommends Dexron VI.)

Castrol Transynd,

BP Autran Syn 295,

BASF Emgard 2805,

International Fleetrite Synthetic ATF,

Mobil Delvac Synthetic ATF™ / Mobil Delvac 1 ATF,

John Deere HD SynTran,

Mack Synthetic ATF,

Shell Spirax S6 ATF A295,

CNH HD Synthetic ATF

I guess this is a personal preference but as a long time Diesel Pusher owner I like to follow the recommendations of the system manufacturer.

Just my opinion.

I do admit that I'm not going to drain my transmission until it has a lot more than the current 5800 miles on it.
