I finally got it to recognize the flash drive and played all my music just fine. I’ve tried formatting the videos in diff configurations to no success I’ll be contacting naviks they make some plug n play mods and see if they can help shed some light into this.

for you guys that are able to get your system to play while in drive, there's a module on eBay under 90 bucks that will let you play videos in drive. Not sure what the rules are for posting links so I won't post a link, easy to search..Just search GM VIM. I bought one a few months back, been working on no issues.. it also lets you enter navigation address and see your text messages while in drive.

And only other option I see is the "Projection" icon but I have not been able to figure it out but I think it is more for map directions and text.

Look guys if you really want to do something with video up front.

Replace your trucks screen with a iPad mini the programming is out there for sale cheap enough.

Your screen will still play all the trucks normal function but will also be a computer a iPad that works normally up front. I just bought everything for mine last week and we’re gonna do it this weekend.

I cant tell you how cool it is ,but I have actually seen it in person already working on a buddys truck.

He can use Siri do web searches live on screen on truck or go back to regular Chevy my link whatever he wants. It took us a bit longer to set his up cause it was our first time to do it mine will be the actual third one we’ve done now. Last one took like four hours. The first one took us like a week lol we were lost trying to figure it out but we got it done works great. There is a video now on how to do it. I will post that also hold on a moment. Try this one to start with this was one of the videos we watched there’s actually a much better one we used to learn for our vehicles was on a 2017 Chevy Silverado  y’all enjoy let me know what y’all think thanks Rick

Hey guys. I have a 2017 Silverado and I WAS able to play video on the screen the way it was described in the video. Truck had to be in park tho. Once I shifted into drive video went away but audio kept playing. I was a mp4 video that I had downloaded in iTunes.

Can you share details of how you were able to play video on a 2017 Silverado Mylink?  I've heard that the feature was removed for 2017+ mylink systems.

I put the video file (M4v format) on a hard drive and plugged it into the USB port in the arm rest.
then click on media button, browse, folder view, then you should be able to find the file.
I also purchased a video in motion module on eBay that allows video to continue to play while in drive. ( life saver for the kids on long drives)

it also allows you to type in addresses for google maps and things like that too.
