Really I get it paid for as a expense. Made a lot of money in college and never worked after that. Now I'm the trustee to family estate. So I get a large expense account per year. Spend it on toys and beer the rest I just waste..
Budget for the Camaro is $100,000 but we no the us just this year's budget. Girlfriend thinks I'm crazy.. but good stuff isn't cheap.

So dual battery is done. Please don't mind the missing red boot for the 2nd better power wire. Daughter was playing with it then it disappeared. So ordered another set.

Note the factory tray. It is just a $7 part for the hold down. Don't need the other tray as some post claim. 2nd ground goes to engine block. As the 2nd battery is mostly a jumper battery anyways. However the 2 positions on the setup are connected when key is turned or connected when button pushed. So that way if truck is running both batteries are charging.
Tomorrow we fix exhaust and I hope have time to work on sub box.ed8d119f9cb638e34169fc286487ac19.jpg916276d783df5fd26952c27a65f11d1c.jpgb4981e24dddd723306b5eb6d0eeaac33.jpg35dfec894583bf700a583d50e9cbc604.jpg1c9d19051145cdf82443c1d8f8b9afeb.jpg

Well the good and the bad. Got exhaust flex fixed and a stainless bung installed. Bolted it back together. Truck was quite then ever. I was happy then I drove it at 4.5lb is all the boost it made. So I changed the boost controller and got on it. Well I felt the biggest wheel hop ever but it was loud and jumped to 13.5lb and was great. But so loud. So I stopped and looked under truck expecting to see the flex blown out. But it was fine. On the way home I see a exhaust pipe in the road, then i realized that is mine. Shit! It blew off and I ran it over.....ugh. back to ordering parts.56af4539e8401d1cb782e78da809c8f2.jpg69b57ce45f60e4e5d003e2ab2d11656f.jpg

Not the most exciting but and least it doesn't look like shit. This time around I did the 3.5 to 4". Should clear the traction bars and still look nice. This weekend I will work on sub box more. Been busy...28da0e4668be209646d89574732cd84a.jpga3f053a7252fa118eb89eac8079ee10c.jpg5bfab7ace738dd2ba7907015d6fcd882.jpge8ec96546b45281c013acb3c6964e965.jpg6083ecf3a2f61cdcd9f06088df73ee45.jpg9e1f517a8fcce2387bfa9a0c26dccb47.jpg5fa22d7d182f47584788928d229af3d8.jpg

Back on audio. Box is coming along slow. I always over build. So triple reinforcement on corners and triple sealed. I could have fit 4 10" in this box.
I didn't mine little different. On the face edge it is flush in the middle then farther in on the sides. Two reasons one is the air space out to breath, then I like a handle to grab to flip up the seat. Also I have more than I need for internal air space.
Off to find carpet and leather that matches. FML....5f64f08cc8904f912a97d34e1152a662.jpgaa63c247c9eb5d3026fb035e4c082bf5.jpg405fd5ba24f996b0306c1e63ea0c0474.jpg26d061575c4d7e30a6c2d8a0fb70cbd3.jpga141bb8b670da0143ab469845eb9e2df.jpg

So it is primed and installed. This week I will try to find leather and carpet for it. I didn't tune the LC2 or the amp. Yet the power is noticeable. On the factory head unit subs clip at 70% audio level. This is will all the amp levels way off.
So I drove it to enjoy the boost and bass. And I should have know, things can't be that easy. Blew the exhaust off again. I will need to "pin" the slip joint on the exhaust. Just need to wait for my traction bars to show up first so I know my exhaust clears.187eed4e60eb4f9904e3c9011ca5a5bc.jpg4fc3131509d2055f62e9ad1b8590c9ff.jpg

So my Smith's traction bars are on back order, I called 3 times and they are waiting on laser cut parts. They said they would call me on the 21st and let me know the the status. But they are also moving to a new shop. So I hope in a month I will have them.

Rear pinion is -5* and the trans is +5* so removed the Belltech spacer at the trans. Odd it moved the high speed shake up up to the 80mph area and on perfect roads it is hardly noticeable. Got to work on it more.

Ordered Alpine mid drivers, speaker adapters, mounts, and wire. I installed my JL 3.5" speakers. Light cutting and they bolt right in. Sound is easily twice as good. Front doors are getting Alpine X components. Rear doors get a mid bass Alpine 6.5" driver.

Other than the added wire to the tweeter through the front doors, everything is super easy.

The Sun Downs are super loud. Still breaking them in but I keep turning the knob down.

NOTE: the Audio Control LC2i is great but note that the output is way over 1volt. so the amp(PDX 1.1000) is still clipping. The Bose amp doesn't clip so the acu-bass can be maxed at the side control screw. My amp has a control for input voltage so I switched it to 1-8v input. and solved the clipping.

PIC coming soon.

Not much but for anyone buying the AMI billet emblems this is a nice piece. One piece and powder coated. The other ami was 2 piece and fell apart. So $200 later I figure it out. Waiting on last of the audio.
I will see how I like it with the high end speakers then maybe another alpine pdx amp...
Choices are big 4 channel and bi amp wire the crossovers at a 2 ohm load and give them 150 watts each. Or bose amp on the dash and a big 4 channel on the doors. Ugh

Oh don't mind the boring plate. For months I have been meaning to get to the DMV for my custom plate. Need to do the truck, motorcycle, camaro, and two boats. And I hate the DMV.....

So the Bose system is tricky. The new speakers in the rear doors sound like they are at half volume vs the bose. I think the heavier cone and the Bose amp low wattage is why. So bought a Alpine amp.

Thinking about painting my wheel inserts black.

Still need to play with the pinion edges. And waiting on traction bars.04e7694fa75303362b2e827fd3d9f291.jpg71d4c3d260e56e437fb9ba6db9cccf4f.jpg6bae4fa13ed1ecb3e2ff84628b0b0670.jpg

Got my bars in finaly. Great quality.
Had to move the exhaust forward.
Checked my pinion and trans angles. Zero at axle and down 3 at the trans. Gm spec is with in 1 degree. So different shim or my 2 degree in the back to rise the axle to 2*. Make it -1* lower.
2nd amp is in but didn't finish the wireing yet.
Oh and need a 3rd alignment it is off again. 33af23a2d2f9eaa2ae2f777d0ed12788.jpg59ca97246c96ce0bcdf12c532b995d9f.jpg

Smithracecraft assassin bars. And they are the new version. New version is just a 1" shorter bar. They are the number one rated bars based on my research on yellowbullet and performancetruck.com. guys all say they beat the Calvert in 60ft times. Super heavy duty.
I can't tell why I have vibration. Angles aren't too bad. Wonder if the drive shaft need shortening? I dont mine a performance shaft but wanted to rule out everything else. The shop that did alignment(twice) said 24" can't be roadforced balanced.
*Don't think the bars would fit your truck Nasty, they set 5.5" down from the front leaf bolt. and more if bars is mounted in lowest hole. *
