2018 White silverado paint stains, dealer tire shine

Recommended Posts

That sucks! i too have a summit white truck. I will never buy another one ever again lol. See everything on it and the little rust specks embedded all over the sides(mostly winter months) from the brakes i guess reacting with the salt up here in Ontario are enough to drive you crazy after a wash. Nice as white stays clean or at least gives the appearance, but pain in the ass. You'd have never seen this on any other color.

Rail dust

Not rail dust, in my case at least. I went as far as to call the manufacturer of the tire shine they used and they said that on brand new vehicles it will react with the releasing agent on the tire and will stain painted plastic or in my case the rock guard. It did come off the regular paint on the body. The tire shine manufacturer said the spots will fade in time.

So what took it off !! I have a 2018 summit white Silverado and I used Meguiar’s Endurance gel and it put stains all over my truck!! It just looks like the clear coat has oil on it or like finger prints! It’s driving me crazy
