2012 equinox brakes

Has anyone changed the own brakes is there a secret to it or is it just like the rest of cars push the piston in and change the pads about to change them in my wife's car with 125 k mikes them

Can't answer that, wife doesn't keep one long enough to wear out a set of pads.
