So I’ve got 3500 miles on my duramax, I know it’s not even broke in yet. When I first got the truck while driving especially pulling a load all I could hear is the purr of the engine and a little tire noise. At about 2800 miles when giving it throttle or pulling a load the engine exhaust is more pronounced, not a tic or rumble I can just hear it now. Like a exhaust hum in the cab, has anyone else’s noticed this change?

I’m looking at purchasing a ‘22 Elevation.   Unfortunately the truck I’m looking at isn’t equipped with the dual exhaust/bumper, which is what I want.  It just has the regular pipe out the side.   Does anyone know if the dealer can swap out the bumper and add the dual exhaust?

I have a 2017 GMC Siearra 1500 with the 5.3L & 8 speed transmission. There is a rattle noise that you can hear at cold start. I have seen posts on this issue and answers seem to be all over the place. When my truck sits overnight or while at work all day, there is a rattle that sounds to me like it is coming from the exhaust. I haven't gotten under the truck to see exactly where the sound is coming from. It typically lasts about 5-10 seconds. If you immediately put the truck in gear after startup the rattle goes away. Any info on exactly what this may be is appreciated. I have seen suggestions of torque converter, heat shield, hole in exhaust, flapper valve, and bad catalytic converter. Can anybody narrow this down to one of these issues?

Hello Everyone! Before I get started I want to thank anyone in advanced who responds with pertinent information.

I'm looking for a replacement exhaust system for my 09 Silverado 6.2L 4x4 Crew Cab/Short Bed. My current system has lots of rust (living in MD, they heavily salt & brine the roads here) and has sprung an exhaust leak right behind the muffler on one of the pipes.

I've been searching around (thought it would be easy to find a system) but have not had luck in finding what I have been searching for. There are plenty of systems for 5.3L & 6.0L motors but scant any for 6.2L.

On my truck currently is an aftermarket cat back system that was there when I bought the truck (not sure which brand.) It is a single in / dual out muffler with dual pipes going out the bumper.

      Questions:
What is the factory flange diameter at the end of the factory Y pipe? I'm seeing conflicting information (this will help me determine what muffler to buy if I piece meal a system together)

If you have any suggested systems, here's what I'm looking for
      Material: 304L Stainless Steel
      Volume: Loud/Agressive
Configuration: Dual exit at rear bumper

I'd consider a long tube header setup w/ high flow cats as well (I would like to maintain all emissions equipment) any suggestions there are also welcome.

I can always get a quote from a shop but I wanted to shop around first before I did that.

Alright, before you say you don’t hear anything let me explain first. This video posted below is my 2021 Trail Boss 3500k miles and has the most annoying exhaust sound. I know there’s some serious pro’s on here who could tell me what’s going on.

Essentially any time I start it up high RPM, accelerate, or decrease RPM’s I’m greeted with this annoying metallic rattling noise coming from exhaust.

Took it to dealer who claims it’s normal (per-usual) and says it’s the liters I can hear in the exhaust tone. They checked exhaust donuts and heat shields and found no issue.

However you can hear a rattle and what sounds like an exhaust leak. Was told it’s a flapper but it’s not, flapper is toward back passenger side. This is front passenger side.

I could best describe it as escaping air coming from somewhere near the manifold I’d assume. Almost like a metallic farting exhaust noise for lack of better description.

Videos to follow of noise while commuting.

      Welcome to my build!

Started with a 2019 Silverado 1500 LTZ 4wd 5.3L, which I bought with 9k miles on her in August of 2020. Got a crazy good deal on it, justified me driving to Georgia from Houston to pick it up. It even came with the Ranch Hand front bumper on it already, other than that she was stock.

Little bit of background on my past trucks, I've been fortunate to own quite a few: 07 JK Wrangler, 08 Silverado 1500 LT Z71, 2014 GMC Sierra 1500 SLT Z71, 2015 GMC Sierra 1500 SLT w/ 6.2L, 2016 Denali 2500 Duramax, 2017 Silverado 1500 LTZ Z71, and finally my 2019 Silverado 1500 LTZ Z71. I also have my 2015 ZL1 Camaro for a little bit of fun on the side, my wife has gone off to German side and is rocking her Porsche Cayenne.

So here's the current list of mods:
4" Zone Lift kit w/ Fox rear shocks  35x11.50's Nitto Terra Grapplers on stock 20's  Front and back Ranch Hand bumpers Hooker Blackheart Cat-back exhaust utilizing factory dual tips K&N Series 63 cold air intake  Rough Country Automatic drop down steps Camlocker Tool box Front windows tinted to match back factory tint  Front windshield tint strip  Chevy All-Weather floor liners Stubby antenna
Just went on a shopping spree of sorts and this is what I've got on order:
Boost auto parts auto fog mod Putco Blade LED Tailgate Light Bar w/ Putco wiring harness All LED bulbs; replacing turn signals, license plate lights, and reverse lights.  And the GRAND finale, King 2.5 PRS coilovers
The list of things to come in the near future:
High Country cluster from White Audio and Media, had their Tahoe cluster in my 2017 and it was fantastic!  Waiting to order the rear King Resi PRS shocks until my checkbook bounces back a little bit. Lol Going to be putting on several LED light bars and maybe a pod or two, going to do my best to blend them into the Ranch Hands and make them as non conspicuous as possible. I'm strongly considering doing a Dyno tune w/ Kooks long tubes as well. Going to be doing ceramic tint all the way around. Limo on back windows and back glass, 15% on front windows, and 35% on the front windshield.  I've got a drop in plastic bed liner that drives me crazy, so I'll more than likely go ahead and get the bed sprayed.
      Things I'm considering:
Looking into changing up the rims and trying to clear 37's when the time comes for new tires.  Blacking out the badges? Still not sold on this one... Turbo or a supercharger kit? This one would be way down the line though. Anything else that catches my attention, let me know if you can come up with anything!
Here is the truck from stock:
