Aftermarket bumpers

Recommended Posts

Hello all. I’m looking to outfit my 2500 with a new bumper. After seeing what a doe did to a neighbors truck I felt like it would be a smart investment. I’ve only gone as far as window shopping here and there but I’d like to hear from you on what bumpers any of you have and your experiences with them.

Thank you in advance.

I put a Trailready base bumper on my 2015. It fit and mounted good and I wanted a winch. Been happy with it and there are different versions of it and they have a website you can look at. There are many many bumpers out there now just depends on what you want and what looks good to you.

Depends on the model you select, but could be 100-200 lbs. nothing that your 2500 would flinch at.

Weight was a factor and a good point by aseibel. My bumper was 180lb and stock bumper weighed in at 70lbs. I had a freight scale at work so we weighed them both, but i then added the winch another 100 easy. So I added roughly 210 to the front. I measured the truck before and after it didnt even flinch with new weight added. These 2500 are stout I sweated the weight and it didnt change anything mileage, towing, cooling nothing.

I’m feeling pretty good about the ranch hand legend series bumper. It sucks I wish they had a rear bumper to match with it for my year. I like that it’s heavy duty af. As far as a winch goes, I don’t have a need for it at the moment. Jus looking for the strongest maximum protection against deer or any tard that’s not paying attention.

I’m paranoid because of all these weight capacities. Not sure how critical they are in the real world and scheme of things.

I haven't decided yet, but a youtuber I watch is sponsored by Ranch Hand - i'd probably buy theirs if I add one. Like you said, HDAF! Thought about entering the giveaway.  Youtuber is Big Truck Big RV.

I have a BuckStop bumper on my truck, made specifically to ward off deer strikes without crippling the truck. I would like to show you, but we can't post pics like we used to be able to.
