Added Go-Rhino D64052T Dominator D6 Nerf Bar from EBAY vendor USPARTSOUTLET. Who I highly recommend. They refunded me $50.00 because UPS did slight damage to the bars no questions asked.

Really like the setup overall, just wish go-rhino would have added two more mounts so I could have 4 per side instead of three. I have the provisions for 4, so more is better right? :)

Will post pics shortly

Adding pics of the Go-Rhino D6 install...

Shipping damage pics and various installation pics.

Install was pretty straightforward and It took me an hour and 15 to perform the first side by myself. 45 minutes to do the other side since I had a process down. I'd imagine it would go much quicker with an extra set of hands. Also, each D6 is about 40lbs.

Thoughts: I like the look and the adjustability of the steps.

I would have preferred one more bracket per side (8 total instead of just 6) so I could utilize all the mounting locations the truck provides.

Added a Retrax PRO MX. Nice cover but not worth the asking price of about 1800.00. I got a great deal via AutoAnything so if your interested chat with the CSR before you add to cart.

Also added a 14” 3” in 2.5” x 2 out magnaflo for a stealthy dual out setup. Sounds great but the drone at 1700rpm is annoying af. Gonna change it again

Battery started going south due to leaving my Escort plugged in.
Had to make a decision of waiting on Dealer to replace under warranty or taking care of it myself with an upgraded AGM battery.

Considering i have a stereo upgrade in the works, I purchased and upgraded to an AGM battery. Time is money and I can’t sit in a dealership waiting for another cheap GM battery to be installed only to come back in 2 years to do it all over again...

I picked up a 900cca Super Start Platinum (made by Deka) from my local O’Reilly for 163.93 out the door. I guess AGM batteries are becoming more and more mainstream these days because I replaced on in my old 2013 335i awhile back and it was about225.00.

O’Reilly was a huge help with assisting me with the removal by providing me the tools to so... They didn’t want to damage the truck so after they took all the braces and such apart they left removal of old battery to me. Not easy as some of you know. Gotta flip the battery on its side in the tray then lift up and out. It’s a fairly heavy battery so I’d suggest having a friend near by if it’s a bit much for you. I was ok, but it was awkward. Installing the new AGM is a reverse process and wasn’t too painful. Everything snapped back into place as it was before the removal.

Note: The AGM does weigh a smidge more than the stock.

Picture for the hell of it.

Started a de-chrome project. Figured I’d swap chrome bits for black - mainly the mirror caps and door handles. I did some minor plasti-dip work on the emblems and bow ties, too.

Not complete just yet. Still a WIP

Added Readylift rear blocks to compliment the Bilstien 5100s and add 1” of rake to the back of the truck.

A 4x4 z71 should have come from the factory like this, IMHO. I’m happy with the results

I’ve had this truck for a year and overall I’m impressed. Yes, there are times I miss keyless entry and the 8-speed has a mind of its own sometimes, it’s been a good truck. I would purchase again, but would look harder at the 6.2l
The 5.3 is more than enough, but I like grunt!

Also, I experimented with various exhausts and if I had to do over again, I would have just bought a Corsa and been done with it.

The chrome... hate it. Love the luxury of the LTZ+ package, but the chrome door handles and mirror caps are ridiculous.
I swapped them out for the cheap black bits, but I have silver replacements ready to go, just need to install them.

All in all looking for another good year with this truck.

Here’s a pic of how it looks a year later

More to come, new silver handles and caps, I’m currently having the factory wheels powered coated high gloss black so expect and updated photo shoot soon. Oh, still mulling adding a sub to the Bose system. Thanks for looking!

You going back to factory wheels?

I was thinking about Procomp wheels.

How have they held up?

Solid wheel, especially for the price.
I do like them but I get bored so I’m gonna give the powered coated factory 18’s a go.

That’s what I’m in. I’m looking for a 0 offset and Method doesn’t do that, only -12. I saw Procomp wheels going for like $400 set and I wondered. I know they’re insanely popular in Jeep community which makes sense. That sport tends to experience a lot more damage and breaks so why not cheap wheels.

Yup. Switched back. The factory wheels are getting powered coated high gloss black. Should have them on in the next month or so.

On thing I’ll add... the best mod (besides the pad that keeps the keys from banging on the column) is disabling the cylinder deactivation. Drivability is so much better and i get the same CITY mpg and since we drive 80+mph here in Texas, it was rarely engaged on road trips. I also think the 8spd trans shifts better too.I highly recommended it
