Therefore, I am sold on the need for a catch can on all GDI engines.  The new Fords went to a combination of port and direct inject, my guess is to combat this issue.

 

My old was was an RX, but I can't seem to find them anymore.

The RX can and the Elite E2 are essentially identical.  I would buy one of those and go with whatever has the better price at the time of purchase.

Damn, RX is PRICEY now.  $450 to start and goes up from there.

Absolutely and I had hose left over.

Yeah they are.  I think mine was $299 when I bought it in 2014

I added a few more pics. Still looks a little cramped in the pics, but it's really not. I can easily fit a standard water/pop bottle underneath the catch can for draining and accessing using the oil dipstick is also not an issue.

I have the Elite S2 on my 2017 Sierra. Definitely worth the investment! Install was very straight forward and didn't take long...............
