I'd personally never use one of these. My brother ruined his brand new motor in one of his logging machines because the valve came open. I'm sure 99.9% of the time they are fine, but my luck is be the .01% haha

The version i have has a locking thingy that prevents the valve from opening. Even then, the valve handle has to be pushed up and turned while pushing it up. There is spring pressure so its very unlikely for it to open accidentally during normal operation.

It was a good laugh J-man67.

I know I enjoy changing the oil in my Silverado, just slide right under with no need to lift the vehicle.  Compared to how annoying it is to get under some of the other sports cars I have owned.  Maybe this was his first time changing the oil in his lifted truck?

It's better than the ones that say "I can't believe I paid $60,000 for this POS.........................."

I believe Jose_Haha was being sarcastic, pointing out the amount of lift on the truck.  I see no oil !

I believe it is something like this:

 https://www.amazon.com/LC-10-F-Type-FUMOTO-Valves-Compatible/dp/B011SDCZAK/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1526494723&sr=8-1&keywords=fumoto+valve+lock

I have a magnetic drain plug but will be switching to the fumoto valve at me next oil change
