I found this out a while ago that to actually turn off your radio, push and HOLD the power button, center button on volume knob. A simple press just mutes it, but a long press turns it off and I have a big clock that appears.

also a quick mute of the radio, just push your steering wheel button to hang up a phone call and it mutes, as well as unmutes your radio.

Child security locks. Which are wonderful when adults sit in the back.

It's not a big deal and I should test this before complaining too much. It's just weird when you can open locked doors. But I guess locks are technically to keep people out.

When in gear and doors are locked- pull on inside handle twice and door will unlock on the second pull. Works for driver and passenger side.

I'm just curious. I'm trying to think about it and the only thing I'm coming up with is, why would you want the doors to unlock while in gear/motion? I'm thinking safety hazard. I can understand if it's in park...

I already knew about the child locks for the back doors, which I think are great for keeping kids from accidently opening the door while in motion or having them fling the door open when it's a tight squeeze into a parking space.

On a different note. I thought it was just a glitch, but it's constantly working for me. But, with AA, at times I like the clean look of maps better than Waze(someone's there's just so much stuff going on in Waze) But I like the warnings Waze gives. What I've been doing lately is, starting Waze, hit the map symbol again, then choose Google maps. Waze seems to run in the background and still calls out hazards, red light cameras, etc... weird... Feature/bug... [emoji28]

1. driving up to a locked or gated driveway, passenger can jump out to open gate, you don't need to shift into park twice to them out, then back in after you drive through the gate.

2. pull up to mailbox/ drive-through/ carwash, but can't quite reach what you are leaning out the window for. So you open up the door a couple inches to allow you to lean farther.

3. I pull my garbage bin up the driveway when its empty and I arrive home from work. I open the door and drive slowly with the bin in my left hand.

So there are several instances when I open the door while in gear, none are vital, and I could survive if i had to put it in park. You may never encounter these situations, but I do. This feature is just a tiny slice of convenience for me, and saves some unnecessary shifting since we are forced to have auto locking doors when in motion. I grew up riding around with unlocked doors and never fell out of a moving vehicle once. Go figure.

I run waze in the background on my phone and keep escort live app open on phone, waze will still chime in for me. I’m on iOS though and in a 2015 so I can’t say if you have discovered a phone feature or a truck feature lol.

window lock switch has always been my favorite since my idiot friends used to always play with the windows... and the rear child door safety locks in the door jams saved my drunk friend from escaping while I took him home.

1. It's easier for the passenger to pull the handle twice to only unlock their side. So that's a good one. Otherwise doors still unlocks while in gear by hitting the unlock button.

2. At this point if I have to lean out that far where I need to open the door, I'd rather just put it in park so I don't accidently slip off the brake reaching out. But that's just me.. [emoji28]

3. My driveway in pretty steep and curves, so this is probably not going to work for me.. [emoji28]

I know once you unlock the doors to let someone out, even if you stay in gear, you have to hit a certain speed (5mph??) and the doors will auto lock again. I did go out to my truck and try the double pull while in gear, pretty cool. [emoji106] Good examples for its use you gave.

I think the auto lock is more to keep people from opening your door from the outside (car jacking/kidnappings) comes to mine when the vehicle is just stopped at a light or whatever.

Thanks for the examples. I was thinking, why would I want that feature while I'm in gear (was thinking truck was still in motion due to bring in gear). But yours were when stopped, in gear, and not having to hit the unlock button.

Yeah, I grew up riding with unlock doors, never fell out either, I enjoy living. [emoji28]

Maybe Its been said in here , haven't kept up with the thread But, a touch of the key to start, will keep the truck cranking until started ,I am still getting used to it I am old school and keep holding the key until motor starts LOL

I think only the front doors. It the rear.

That was surprising to me as well. There's been times where I barely turn the key and he fires right off. Fortunately have not ground the starter.

In XM, if you hold the up or down button, it will jump 10 stations at a time. In FM the radio autoscans.

In TravelLink weather and in navigation, if you tap a spot on the map, it will center on that. There's a reset button at the middle of the bottom of the screen that brings you back to your GPS location.

The integrated bed lights, when the switch is active, will come on in park. They will shut off in drive.

If you put your turn signal on and change lanes but it doesnt turn off my itself and you keep driving with it blinking, it will chime and tell you after a while.

Found that out the other day on the highway lol

If you also tap the clock in the upper right hand corner you'll get the same radio image
