SmittyBilt Smart Cover Tonneau Review

Recommended Posts

This would be the second Smittybilt cover i have owned (The first one i sold to someone who liked it on the spot)

I wanted to have a Tonneau Cover again, because i travel a lot and need to have my luggage and other important stuff dry from rain, puddles, etc, and i didnt want to hurt my bank account.

I decided to go again for the SmittyBilt Smart Cover because of a few reasons:

-I live in Mexico, and ordering a big package gets expensive, not even considering import taxes, so i dont want to overspend

-I had previously owned a Smart Cover just like this one (PN 2610032) and i knew what i was going to get

-I just need my stuff to stay dry, and thus cover does that perfectly

-It gives a much nicer apperance to the truck and hides what you have on the bed

What I Like:

-Water does not go in the bed

-Extremely Easy to isntall/remove and fold/unfold and doesnt require any tools.

-Its rather inexpensive, $270.00 US$ on eBay, compared to other covers that can be north of a grand $$$

-Its very decent quality (Considering the price)

-I like how it looks on the truck

-Its very Durable, my dogs walk over it with no problems

-Its very light

What I dont like (But can live with)

-Its difficult to keep clean, even if you wash it, retains a dusty apparence.

-It can be cut with a knife by anyone

-Dust can get inside the bed

And if youre like me and prefer a video over reading, i made this video about it. Hope you like it, support on my YouTube Channel is always appreciated !

Thanks for the add. Greetings All!! 👋
Going to start my membership, by asking what I hope is an easy question.
On an online site, they have a deal on a power retractable tonneau cover that I really like, (like same price as non-powered), but I also just installed a Weather Guard tool box.
My hope/want is that I can put the retractable canister in back of the toolbox, (tailgate side) and then mount my onboard air tank under it, with the compressor in the toolbox.
Finally my question is; will the electric cover stop at my tailgate automatically? I understand I have to cut the rails to accept the canister in the different location, but the cover stopping in the correct stop has me guessing what other mods I’ll have to do.
please help ASAP, as I do not know how long this deals gonna last. Thank you!

      2018 GMC Sierra Denali 3500hd

      Hi All,

I read through some threads about tonneau covers but there is a very specific criteria for 2019+ Denali especially as they have the multi pro tailgates and the carbon pro bedliners. I see there is a bakflip model and many of the expensive extractables, etc. I am looking specifically a soft tri-fold that does not interfere with the gate and hopefully does not require trimming the bed liner. I would even settle for a roll up. Only other requirement is needs to lock so it can only be released with the tailgate open.

Tell me what you got and what you got to work!

Hey all, I'm trying to get in touch with fold-a-cover over a warranty issue. I've got a leaking latch that's draining straight into the bed caddy I have in it. I've been trying to get in touch with them for about a month now, tried previous email threads, the online form, calling two different numbers. But both numbers are disconnected and I've gotten no email responses.

Does anyone have a good contact number over there or know more about their situation?

      Thanks in advance!

So...Look no further for your next tow vehicle! Tow in style, tow with confidence!! This 2015 GMC Denali HD 2500 in Black Onyx has all the bells and whistles and more! She has only 52500 miles on her!

This truck has been upgraded with BlueOx Gooseneck Hitch, a Second 7 Way connector in bed to secure your Gooseneck or Fifth-Wheel camper trailer wiring harness to help you tow in comfort and with confidence. It has also been upgraded with a Pop-A-Lock remote lock actuator for tailgate (unlocks tailgate when you unlock your truck). To help with those horrible GM headlights, this Denali has been upgraded with GTR Lighting Gen 5 HID 5000K headlights and Morimoto XB LED foglights...I cannot begin to tell you how much of a difference this has made! For just that little bit of oomph or MPG, this GMC has also been upgraded with the Banks Ram Air intake and Banks exhaust with chrome tip. Upgraded Shocks to BILSTEIN 5100 series shocks at 43500 miles.

A Banks AutoMind programmer, is available and negotiable with purchase of this 2015 GMC Denali HD.

      Hi all,

Just getting input from the community. I am looking at purchasing a BakFlip MX4 and looking at the Access Adarac Aluminum Pro Rack and I was wondering if any one has this setup or if they know this combination will not bind up the seals on the BakFlip MX4l.

      Thanks is advance.
